2023年10月16日，由美国驻上海总领事馆支持，英蓝集团主办的展览“沉醉异域——奥古丝汀娜·德罗茲”将在 杭州英蓝中心画廊街C2 正式开幕。

“沉醉异域”集中展出奥古丝汀娜三年来的30件作品和两件艺术装置，通过色彩丰富和富有节奏感的图像，展示“人们在自然界中作为入侵者和整合者的角色”的探索。

本系列通过多个角度连接主题，人们时刻对环境的操纵被描绘在错综复杂的图案中，从而变奏出花样图腾和壁纸排列。

艺术家以不同文化之间的理解与独特视角的重组，碰撞出一种自我的艺术思维和创作路径。在创作语境中找到属于自己独一无二的艺术语言。

当代艺术更多是一种体验，一种对自身及外部世界认知的感应，艺术家用创造力提供一种新的方法与视角，为观众找到一种新的思维方式，帮助观众用另外一种独特视角来看待世界。

美国艺术家Augustina Droze（1981）通过色彩丰富和富有节奏感的图像，探索人们在自然界中作为入侵者和整合者的角色。

本系列通过多个角度连接主题。人们时刻对环境的操纵被描绘在错综复杂的图案中，从而变奏出花样图腾和壁纸排列。

來自世界不同地区的入侵物种，被描绘成一幅美丽且带着冲突的地图，就像一幅旋转的、梦幻般的油画。

花生兽以混合的形式呈现，通过人类的感观反映出敬畏和美丽的神态。植物群和动物群从墙上跳脱出来，以雕塑的形式出现在装置上，強化现实生活的视野。

沉醉异域之美本该是一个复杂神话传说。

Invasive Immersion

American artist Augustina Droze (1981) investigates people’s role within the natural world as both invader and integrator through colorful and rhythmic imagery.

This series approaches this theme though multiple lenses. Our ever-present manipulation of the environment is depicted in intricate patterns reminiscent of brocade wallpaper and other decorative motifs.

The invasive species that humans have introduced to different regions of the world are painted in swirling, dream like paintings as a map of beautiful destruction.

Zodiac animals are presented in hybridized form, reflecting the optima of reverence and beauty through the human lens. Flora and fauna explode from the wall, onto installations in sculptural form, occupying the visual field.

The beauty of Invasive Immersion is itself a complex tale.

“沉醉异域”集中展出Augusina三年来的30件作品和两件艺术装置，此次展览共分为三个系列：

第一个系列是由2021年以前的“入侵物种系列“，入侵物种系列表达了不同动物在不同国家地理环境中互相融合和在互相寻找各自的位置，物种之间将组成一种和谐且又有自我特性的画面，每一幅画面代表着一个国家的物种平衡。

第二个系列是由动物与花结合的“十二生肖系列”此系列结合中国传统古建遗址与中国12生肖，生肖动物与花朵的结合，艺术家运用写实手法来表现出十二生肖灵兽在圆明园遗址的盛宴。

第三个系列“守护者”由艺术家本身和花生兽在探索未知的世界，花生兽这些灵性动物在守护着艺术家，穿越这片新世界。这些动物创造了一片新的未知荒野，熟悉但又充满异国情调，就像前言中所讲：沉醉异域之美，本就是一个复杂的神话传说。

策展应用倒序策展的方式来表现这三个系列。

艺术家以不同文化之间的理解与独特视角的重组，碰撞出一种自我的艺术思维和创作路径。

在创作语境中找到属于自己独一无二的艺术语言。这种解构与重组，融合与创新是艺术家与生俱来的气质和天赋。艺术家必须培养自己的艺术气质，并保持与生俱来的艺术天赋，且必须有极具先锋性的冒险精神。这种气质和天赋，再加上先锋的冒险精神，这将是促进当代艺术向前推进的驱动力。

当代艺术中，作品本身就不是有关审美或审美概念，它更多是一种体验，一种对自身及外部世界认知的感应，由此也带来了一种新的概念。艺术家用创造力提供一种新的方法与视角，

为观众找到一种新的思维方式，帮助观众用另外一种独特视角来看待世界。

希望观众同样在这个空间中得到体验，且能借鉴这种视角思维，来看待这个多彩世界。

艺术从未被确定过，艺术的边界随着时代的发展自生也在随之变化。且艺术是一个丰富且复杂的系统，比起蚕更像蜘蛛：蚕吐出的丝是为了作茧自缚，而蜘蛛吐丝却可以在网上结出复杂美丽图案。艺术家需要做的是像蜘蛛一样，在艺术体系里找到自己的艺术语言，编织自己的创作路径，一直延续。

"Invasive Immersio“ presents 30 works and two art installations by Augustina Droze, created over the past three years in three series:

The first series, "Invasive Species Series", created before 2021, depicts the non-native flora and fauna in different countries. Each painting represents a different country with the creatures arranged to form a map of the country represented.

The second series is the "Zodiac Animal Series," which combines animals and flowers. This series marries traditional Chinese ancient building sites with the animals and flowers of the Chinese zodiac. Droze uses magical realist techniques to show the Feast of the Spirit Animals, the 12 zodiac animals, at the site of the Old Summer Palace in Beijing, China.

The third series, "Guardians," explores the unknown world between the artist herself and the zodiac beasts, the spiritual animals that guard the artist through this new world. These animals create an unknown wilderness, familiar yet exotic, and, as the introduction says, "to indulge in the beauty of foreign lands is a complex myth."

The curators present the work in reverse chronological order upon entry to the gallery, introducing the viewer to the artists most current works first.

The mixture of different cultures collide in a kind of self-artistic thinking and creation path.

The artist intertwines her understanding of unique cultures and perspectives to initiate a dialogue between the viewer’s sense of self and artistic thinking and to lead the viewer on a creative journey.

Droze finds unique artistic language in the context of creation. This kind of deconstruction and reorganization, integration and innovation are key to the innate temperament and talent of artists. Artists must cultivate their own artistic perspective and maintain their creative viewpoints to pursue the pioneering spirit of adventure. This temperament and talent, coupled with the innate desire for exploration, will be the driving force for contemporary art to move forward.

In contemporary art, the work itself is not aesthetic or even conceptual, it is more of an experience, a recognition of the self and the external world, which also brings a new concept: artists use creativity to provide a new method and perspective.

Droze finds a new way for the audience to have an immersive experience and help the audience see the world from another, unique perspective.

There is hope that the audience can also engage in this space, and can learn from a new perspective while looking at the beauty of the world she creates.

Art has never been defined, and the boundaries of art change with over time. Art is a rich and complex system, more like a spider than a silkworm: the silkworm produces silk to bind itself, while the spider produces silk to create intricate and beautiful patterns on its web. Droze, like the spider, finds her own artistic language in the art system, weaving a creative path, and continuing onward.
